Commercial Cleaning Supplies – Better Than Homemade

Unless you are a chemist, your homemade cleaning supplies probably are not as good as commercial cleaning supplies. Just because you can pour some vinegar in a bucket and maybe throw in some baking soda doesn’t mean it is a cleaning chemical. Sure it may clean a few surfaces but to what degree?

Commercial cleaning supplies are not something you can conjure up in the kitchen and expect them to clean, disinfect and pass all EPA regulations. If you are working in the cleaning industry say as a contract cleaning company, you will want to know that your supplies are safe, reliable, and will clean like they should.

Therefore when selecting your commercial cleaning supplies you should take into consideration these three key points to insure you will be making the right decision.

First, are they safe? Does the manufacture provide the appropriate documentation such as MSDS (material safety data sheets) and what are the risks to building occupants when using them? If you feel your commercial cleaning supplies are too harsh or may be causing undue health issues, then by all means contact the manufacturer to determine if you are using them in the proper manner.

Second, compare your commercial cleaning supplies with like products to determine which may be more environmentally friendly. Protecting our precious environment should be on everyone’s mind and the cleaning industry is doing its part by providing more chemicals of a green variety. By moving in this direction you too can do your part.

Finally, you should consider the performance of the commercial cleaning supplies that you choose to use in your cleaning business. Do they perform their intended function of cleaning? If not, and you have to use more of the chemicals to do the job, then two things are working against you. Using more than necessary means more chemicals are going down the drain which ultimately ends up in our water ways. And lastly, if you are using more, then you are throwing your hard earned money down the drain as well.

Follow these three points and you will insure you are not only choosing but are using the right commercial cleaning chemicals.
